ミドリ – shimizu

In favorite, i reccomend, lauren's, music on May 22, 2010 at 10:15 am

shimizu is a lovely midori release, and i think it might be my second favorite. the fast piano in ‘romantic natsu mode’ is so good, it reminds me why i will always love this band. if you haven’t heard them before, they are a crazy japanese band that have both pop and hardcore songs. this album is a must for any person who likes an interesting twist to their music! ai ai ai shi te ru!

Amesoeurs – Amesoeurs

In favorite, lauren's, music on May 22, 2010 at 7:55 am

amesoeurs are a french shoegaze/black metal/post punk band from avignon, france. i find it really hard to classify these guys, as some songs are of different genres. i really like it though, and i haven’t been able to take ‘la reine trayeuse’ off of repeat since last night. audrey sylvain has such a beautiful singing voice! i’m really beginning to enjoy french bands now, so expect to see some more on here in the future! stand out tracks are ‘la reine trayuese’ (the screams at the end are soooo good), ‘gas in veins’ & ‘video girl’.

Lily Chou-Chou – Breathe

In favorite, i reccomend, lauren's, music on May 21, 2010 at 8:42 pm

lily chou-chou is a fictional character created for the film ‘all about lily chou-chou‘. salyu (a japanese artist) sings all of the songs under this name. the funny story is, i fell in love with the soundtrack before i had even viewed the film. the film is my favorite of all time, and it will stay that way forever. this soundtrack is like floating in space, so ethereal and relaxing, just like the film. i reccomend this to everyone! also, see the film as well if you love asian cinema as much as i do!

BIG BANG – For The World

In favorite, lauren's, music on May 20, 2010 at 10:23 pm

BIG BANG are a korean boy band under the company YG entertainment. i really love this album because of the jazzy kind of touch they put to their usual dance worthy hip hop tracks. whenever this album is playing, i can’t help but dance around. stand out tracks are how gee, so beautiful, always & lie.

[apparently track 2 & 4 are corrupt, so here they are T_T sorry!]

Carissa’s Wierd – Songs About Leaving

In favorite, i reccomend, lauren's, music on May 20, 2010 at 1:42 pm

if i had to pick my most favorite album ever, it’d be this. i haven’t known about carissa’s wierd for that long, but it’s safe to say i love this album! carissa’s wierd make beautiful, shoegazey, sadcore music. the lyrics are quite sad but the music i find somewhat uplifting. stand out tracks are ignorant piece of shit, the piano song & they’ll only miss you when you’re gone. (did i mention ignorant piece of shit is my favorite song ever? ^^)
